Welcome To Pearl-Cohn Entertainment Magnet High School

Pearl-Cohn Entertainment Magnet High School, located just off of historic Jefferson Street in north Nashville, is the only entertainment magnet high school in the country.  The vision of Pearl-Cohn is to equip our students to realize and achieve their greatest potential, to involve families and to strengthen communities.  We are committed to educating the whole person by engaging our students through academic, creative, athletic, career-based, and service experiences through which their character and talents are developed and strengthened.  Pearl-Cohn students will learn to think critically and problem-solve effectively, cultivate discipline, commitment and cooperation, participate in culture through music, arts and technology, develop and be prepared to achieve post-secondary goals, and will show a commitment to serve others.

Pearl-Cohn is organized into three small school academies including a Freshman Academy, the Academy of Entertainment Management and the Academy of Entertainment Communication.  Within our academies our students have the opportunity to produce programs for both local and national affiliates airing weekly around the country.  Further, our students, in partnership with Warner Music, run a record label which takes artists from song creation to production and distribution.  Our entertainment theme provides the foundation for a dynamic and engaging learning experience that fosters the development of the 21st century skills needed for post-secondary college and career.

At Pearl-Cohn we believe that it is important to serve whole-child needs. As such, we have built partnerships with local businesses and service providers to support our students.  Further, our staff is committed to building positive teacher-student relationships that provide our students with a sense of belonging and connection to our school community.  Through advisory, extra-curricular activities and our small learning communities students receive personalized attention and support.

As a prospective family, we recognize the importance of the decision of where to educate your child.  At Pearl-Cohn we are committed to partnering with you to provide an excellent educational experience where your child will learn and grow.  I look forward to welcoming many new families to our school community.  My door is always open, so please don’t hesitate to come and experience all that Pearl-Cohn has to offer.

Sincerely,

Sonia Stewart

Executive Principal
