James Bailey is a native of Nashville, Tennessee. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from American Baptist College with a major in Bible and Theology and a minor in Church Vocations. He also holds a Master of Education degree from Tennessee State University in Curriculum and Instruction. Mr. Bailey has earned his Education Specialist degree from Middle Tennessee State University and is a candidate for the doctoral program at Walden University. He has worked within the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools system since 2002, endeavoring to reach one child at a time enabling them to become life long learners. He started his teaching career at Jere Baxter Middle School and became a Program Assistant in 2005-2006. He then went on to become the Dean of Students of the 10th Grade Academy at Pearl Cohn in 2008-2009. Mr. Bailey is now the Assistant Principal of the Academy of Business and Technology. Mr. Bailey is married to Shemika Hambrick-Bailey with two lovely daughters. His hobbies include playing and watching baseball, going to church and relaxing with family.
