Standard School Attire

Standard School Attire (SSA) puts Metro Nashville in step with other school districts across the nation seeking to increase school safety, equalize the social impact of trendy clothing and create a calmer, more productive learning environment. Here's a general summary of our requirements for student attire:

  • All pants, shorts, skirts, skorts or jumper-dresses must be navy blue, black, or any shade of khaki.
  • Denim jeans of any color and cargo pants or shorts are NOT allowed.
  • All shirts must have a collar and short or long sleeves--and must be tucked into pants, shorts, skirts, or skorts.
  • Shirts worn underneath another shirt must be navy, black or white, also.
  • Acceptable collar styles include polos, dress-style with or without buttons, or turtlenecks.
  • Manufacturer logos, if any, must be smaller than two inches, although school logos can be any size.
  • White, navy blue, or black are acceptable shirt colors for Pearl-Cohn High School. Black, blue, or any khaki-colored pants, shorts, skirts, or skorts are acceptable. This school attire will assist with safety, discipline and student learning.

We are committed to helping our students comply with the new dress code, but repeated violations of the policy will result in disciplinary action.

Please help your children by ensuring they are dressed in Standard School attire everyday.
